Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Sultanpur II hosted by Acharya Narendra Deva University of Agriculture & Technology, Kumarganj, Ayodhya has been providing technology backstopping for the farming community since inception in July, 2018. Located along the Sultanpur – Haliyapur road near the Kurwar, it can be easily accessed by the farmers from different parts of the district. The KVK has been providing different extension advisory services coupled with different input supply services like seed, seedlings and planting materials. It has been the emphasis of the KVK Sultanpur II to provide these extension advisory services alongwith the extension of various inputs for increasing the adoption of various technological packages of National Agricultural Research System. Well-experienced and qualified staff in various disciplines of Agronomy, Animal Husbandry, Horticulture, Agricultural Extension and Agriculture Engineering with the support of administrative and supporting staff team running the KVK. The KVK team is working towards the attainment of the mandates.
The Kendra has linkages with all the line departments in the district in addition to contacts with the Agricultural University and the ICAR Institutes in the region. These linkages helps the Kendra updated on the recent technologies in agricultural and allied sectors. Kendra facilitates to disseminate the technologies suiting to local requirements by adopting various scientific methodologies. The KVK organizes training programmes and field demonstrations on proven technologies in farmers’ field, exhibitions and kisan melas on agriculture, animal husbandry, fisheries and home science for the benefit of farmers, unemployed women, youth and development workers. “Teaching by doing” and “learning by doing” through work experience is the main motto of Krishi Vigyan Kendra.
